A Word of
Welcome
“Celebrating a sacred path with open minds
and loving hearts”
Life is a journey. At
Church of the Servant we honor wherever you might be in your spiritual
pilgrimage. We welcome you to explore faith and journey with us as
fellow pilgrims.
Begun in 1972, Church of the Servant is a community of
people from various backgrounds—some from other denominations and faith
traditions, some life-long Episcopalians, some brand new to church or
returning to church after a long absence. What they have in common is a
desire to live a deeper, more intentional life.
-
Some are drawn to our
ancient liturgical worship which we hope is fresh and inclusive. The
labyrinth etched in the floor and the flexible sanctuary design
contribute to a sense of sacred space.
-
Others are attracted
by our various social ministries as we reach out to the poor and
marginalized in our community seeking to serve others as Christ
urged disciples to do.
-
Many are drawn to our
educational offerings where "open minds" are fed and stretched and
young minds are nurtured in faith development.
-
Many
are fed literally at our numerous celebrations, dinners, receptions,
potlucks where food and drink and loving hearts witness to God's
generous hospitality to all.
The best way to see what
we are all about is simply to join us in any of the worship services,
activities or programs. Our hope is that you will feel at home and
welcomed not only by us but by the Divine Host whom we call Jesus
Christ.
